If you even use iTunes at all I wouldn’t recommend Linux. Linux has a steep learning curve at least using it to it’s best. Linpus is designed to be very easy to use however it take a lot of features away in exchange. You can revert to a standard Linux desktop however it isn’t just a couple clicks of changes. At the level to truely master Linux, iTunes wouldn’t come into question because you would already know that there it TONS of media apps that are way better than iTunes as well as tons of music services that don’t DRM the crap out of their media. That set aside…

Both Acer and Asus have great consumer ratings and are amongst the top 5 in reliability. The components used are usually identical or explicitly similar and both offer the features that the chumps (Dell, HP, etc.) remove from their BIOS like USB key booting. That being said it comes down to the battery pack and exterior features which I think currently Asus has a true handle on at the moment. You rmost valuable deciding point should be what you are intending on using it for rather than brand.

you won’t really be able to play any good games because the processors are too slow and screen resolution is to low. i have a linux eee pc and love it. it freezes every now and then but usually only when i’m downloading too many updates at once. it’s great for quick internet surfing, i watch hulu (but not in full screen), and have always been impressed with the battery life.
if you want to make things easy on yourself just get the windows version. i got linux because i wanted to learn it and because i just don’t like windows xp. or any windows for that matter. the great thing about linux is that there’s a whole community of users that customize it, strip it down, build it up and make all other manner of modifications. and then they’re nice enough to share it with everyone else. i’m no computer expert but i’ve learned some great stuff just by cruising forums and found a much better version of linux to install that is custom made for the eee pc that i have.

For games on netbook you should look at the new HP 311. I have been reading better reviews on the Acer. Aspire one. Go for windowsXP, linux and SDs are out on netbooks. Go for the new 11.6 screen. Look at the Acer 751, 11.6 and the best price.
