The Acer Aspire Timeline 1810TZ is exciting because not only does it go beyond the Intel Atom mold for it’s processing needs with a dual core Intel Pentium SU3100 1.3 GHz processor (making it more of a CULV than a netbook I suppose), but it also has an HDMI output as well. The Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD that comes on board should also be more than capable of playing HD content easily.
Here are the different variations on the Acer Aspire 11.6 inch Timeline series:
The 1410 features a 5 hour battery, a dual core Intel Celeron SU2300 CPU, and is $399.99
The 1810TZ features an 8 hour battery, a dual core Intel Pentium SU4100 CPU, and is $549.99
The 1810T features an 8 hour battery, a dual core Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300 CPU, and is $599.99
I personally would opt for the more expensive version if you’re looking for a laptop replacement / desktop replacement. But if you just need a good secondary machine the 1410 should be sufficient. In any case, here is the unboxing video of the 1810Z:
